Bring your own API key (OpenAI, Mistral) for deeper monthly analysis. The key lives in your Keychain and nothing is stored on Cairn's servers.
Your key, your account
Bring your own API key from OpenAI or Mistral and Cairn uses it for the heavier analyses. You are the customer of that provider, billed by them directly; Cairn never sees a bill and never holds your key on a server.
Where the key lives
In your device Keychain, the same place your passwords live. It is not synced to us, not embedded in exports, and removing it in Settings ends the arrangement immediately.
What actually gets sent
Only the entries needed for the analysis you asked for, and only when you asked. Everyday entry analysis stays on-device — bringing a key does not move your journal to the cloud, it adds a tool for the long-form work.
